Wizard Woes Continue…

May 20th, 2009 No comments
For the umpteenth time in the last umpteenth years, the Washington Wizard's fans get screwed again. This past year they tied for the 2nd-worst record in the league and still managed to get the #5 pick in the NBA Draft Lottery which only solidifies the curse of changing their name from the very legit "Bullets" to the lowly and very odd "Wizards".

WTF? Without a doubt they would have drafted Blake Griffin out of Oklahoma University, the consensus #1 collegiate player who led the nation with 30 double-doubles (1 short of breaking David Robinson's NCAA record), 14.4 boards per game, and a Big 12 best 22.7 points per game as a SOPHOMORE. I'm not callin out Antawn Jamison, who is quite frankly the man and proves it every night, or Gilbert Arenas, who even though shuns the leadership spotlight is the main reason why the Wiz made the playoffs lately, but c'mon, can't we just get a little lucky? I guess we already had our luck handed to us when we traded Jerry Stackhouse and Christian Laettner for Antawn Jamison bout 6 years ago, i still think we are due for another one though...

Just think, the Wiz coulda had Blake Griffin givin facials like this every night...but no, it will be Brendan Haywood receiving them instead. Blake won the McDonalds High School All-American Slam Dunk Contest back in 2007, i guess he can showcase those talents with the Clippers next season. Will always give it up for a Sooner born and bred boy though, not to mention the Clippers' jerseys look WAY better than the Wizards, so good luck Blake!
